DIMMI: Migrant Multimedia Diaries is the national contest that collects and publicizes the stories of people of foreign origin or background who live or have lived in Italy. The contest has two goals: to bring together and preserve a cultural heritage in danger of being lost; and to counter stereotypes about migration through the testimony of those who have experienced it firsthand. The stories are then shared with class groups in schools throughout Italy, and from these paths often come other stories that are transformed into theater, audiovisual and other artistic languages.
