The Thessaloniki Documentary Festival is an international documentary film festival held every March in Thessaloniki. The festival, founded in 1999, is a competitive festival and is one of the most important documentary film festivals in the world. The Thessaloniki Documentary Festival focuses on independent documentary cinema and the discovery of new filmmakers from around the world. Its screenings attract more than 85,000 viewers annually.
