Toplotsentrala Regional Centre for Contemporary Art

Toplotsentrala Regional Centre for Contemporary Art

Description

The Toplocentrala project is a joint initiative between a group of artists from the independent art scene and Sofia Municipality, which was launched in 2014 with the main idea to transform the former heat plant of the National Palace of Culture, built in 1981, into a Centre for Contemporary Arts of modern European type.
It now offers diverse activities related to contemporary art – performances, concerts, exhibitions, etc.
Toplocentrala’s primary mission is to provide opportunities for various contemporary forms of education and international interaction. One way of doing this is by engaging each visiting international artist in a working creative process with Bulgarian artists in the form of master classes, workshops, co-developing and staging a work, etc.

Who can attend: Open to all but encouraging young people to have access to contemporary art
